Stages of a Ripening Banana

Here’s a helpful picture showing what the stages are for a ripening banana. As a banana ripens and turns yellow, it starts to show brown spots (see #7 in the picture above). During this stage of ripening, the resistant starch has turned to a type of sugar that can be used for fuel  for your body. Sweet!
