How To Do The Perfect Push-Up
A big part of being a certified personal trainer is to spot incorrect exercise form and make the necessary corrections to prevent injury and maximize exercise efficiency with our clients. When I go to the gym, I see a lot of people doing the push-up incorrectly. Folks, it’s time to learn how to do the push-up correctly.
How To Do The Perfect Push-Up
In addition to having correct form during the exercise, it’s important to maintain a 4-2-1 tempo. This means that you go down slowly for 4 seconds, hold for two seconds, and then go back up in 1 second. Too many people will just go up and down as quickly as possible, which results in horrible form (usually) and doesn’t maximize the benefit of the exercise!
