More fun and totally random health related pictures. 1. My husband was given this candy bar for his birthday. He ate three pieces (one row), and had the candy bar sitting on his desk for weeks. I finally took a picture of it, just to show myself what real “Will Power” looks like.   2. I’m still not sure if this is cute or just plain creepy.    3. It’s time to put the coffee down…   4. I know that they are both orange, but only one if a vegetable. Don’t get confused!   5. I love this.   6. You Need A Vacation

Posted by on Mar 29, 2012 in Health, Twinkie | Comments Off on You Need A Vacation

You Need A Vacation! I really doubt that I need to convince anyone why they would need to go on a vacation. A vacation is something everyone wants, right? Well…not everyone. I have been wanting to go on a vacation for years now, and my husband just didn’t feel like he “needed” to go on one. It wasn’t something he grew up with, and in reality, he just didn’t know what he was missing out on! Fast forward five years, I’m now pregnant, and I need (yes, need!) that vacation before our first baby comes this Fall! Needless to say, we finally went on our lovely vacation and my husband finally understands what the big hype with vacations is all about!  :) What’s Stopping You? I think sometimes we just get so busy with the day to day activities in...

Doesn’t Mean You’re Healthy

Posted by on Mar 12, 2012 in Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on Doesn’t Mean You’re Healthy

I know a lot of people that eat mainly junk food, drink soda/alcohol, never exercise, and look absolutely fabulous. Before you get too jealous, just know that it doesn’t mean everything is working in tip-top shape on the inside. “Just because you’re not sick doesn’t mean you’re healthy”  ~Author Unknown You can easily change the quote to “just because you’re not overweight…” We all know that what is going on in the inside will always manifest itself on the outside… eventually. Do what you can to eat healthy, exercise, rest well, and reduce the stress in your life. Taking good care of your overall health is something you will never regret. As a Google Friend Connect (GFC) subscriber at SkinnyTwinkie.com (and likely many other sites), you may already know that GFC is going away for all non-Blogger websites effective March 1, 2012. Coconut Water by Vita Coco®

Posted by on Jan 30, 2012 in Twinkie's Favorites | Comments Off on Coconut Water by Vita Coco®

Vita Coco’s an all-natural, super-hydrating, fat-free, cholesterol-free, nutrient-packed, potassium-stacked, mega-electrolyte coconut water! What is Coconut Water? Many people seem to get coconut water a little mixed up with coconut milk, but there’s a big difference between the two. Coconut water comes from inside younger coconuts filled with a clear, electrolyte-rich juice that contains zero fat and zero cholesterol. Coconut milk is what is produced from grating the coconut meat of older, brown coconuts: a white, rich liquid containing oils and fat, and often used as an ingredient in cooking and baking. Health Benefits of Coconut Water Coconut water is loaded with potassium (more than two bananas!), which is a great way to keep the body hydrated naturally and prevents cramping. Coconut water naturally contains more electrolytes than leading sports drinks – without any of the added sugars or processed...

Choose Health

Posted by on Dec 26, 2011 in Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on Choose Health

Exercise is for People of ALL sizes It drives me nuts when people say that I don’t need to exercise or eat healthy because I’m already at a healthy weight. Depending on who is asking me, I’ll ask them two very important questions. 1) How do you think I became this weight? 2) How do you think I stay at this weight? I answer my own question (because usually they are still thinking about what I just asked them) and I say, “Well, it didn’t happen by accident!”. I may say it jokingly, but it’s completely true. I have to work at it, and I’m not complaining by any means, it’s just the honest truth. I have completely revamped my eating habits as well as my exercise routine and it’s made a world of difference to my overall health. Prevention...
