The Beginner’s Luck Green Smoothie Recipe
I am enjoying a wonderful week at my parent’s house! It’s so good for me to spend time with family and allow my daughter to get to know her grandparents better and her aunts, uncles, and cousins! I wanted to share with you guys one of the many highlights from my trip. My parents have a garden in their backyard (I personally feel that it’s miracle that anything grows in the intense heat of Nevada), and every day we have been able to enjoy fresh organic red swiss chard and/or collard greens in a smoothie. My mom has a Blendtec and I was so impressed with how well it juiced everything! In less than a week I have become a smoothie believer and could finally understand why people could justify spending $500 for a blender. I never felt like I...
Read MoreHealth Benefits of Kale
Kale has received a lot of attention lately, and for good reason too. It is full of healthy vitamins and minerals that are important for your body. Health Benefits of Kale Check out the infographic below to see the health benefits of kale. Good To Know: As you can see in the infographic, Kale has more calcium than milk, making it a great source of calcium for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan. Kale also has more iron than beef, making it another vegan alternative. Adding Kale To Your Diet Just last night, I had a bunch of kale and some apples that needed to be used soon before they went bad. I decided to juice the kale and apples and…voila! It was super simple and easy (recipe below). I shared the organic green juice with my daughter...

Read More{Paleo & Vegan} Shamrock Shake Recipe
Every St. Patrick’s Day, I see advertising for McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. Yes, it’s green…but it’s green from food dye rather than healthy green fruit or vegetables. It’s full of processed sugars, artificial flavorings and milk sourced from who knows where. The good news? There’s a much healthier – even Paleo & Vegan! – version of McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. Delicious doesn’t have to be guilty. Healthy Shamrock Shake Recipe Ingredients: 1 can coconut milk (you can also sub 1 ¾ cups of any other type of milk) 1 avocado, peeled and seed removed 2 1/2 – 3 tablespoons pure raw honey, (or other sweetener of choice) 1 cup of ice 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract For full recipe instructions, please visit: primallyinspired.com Feel free to follow us, however you...

Read MoreRaspberry Lemonade
Raspberry Lemonade made the way it was supposed to be: with real fruit. Ingredients: 8 cups cold Water 1/2 cup freshly squeezed Lemon Juice 2 cups fresh Raspberries 3 drops Liquid Stevia (or more – “to taste”) Instructions: Step 1) Blend the fresh raspberries (I used some of the 8 cups of water, which helped blend the raspberries). Step 2) Combine the water, lemon juice, blended raspberries, and drops of stevia (add more if needed). Notes: I’ve been looking for a healthy raspberry lemonade recipe and all that I could find were recipes that involved a lot of white sugar or powdered raspberry flavoring – seriously??? I wanted the real stuff! I decided to take things into my own hands, and just made my own raspberry lemonade. This recipe tastes so amazing since I used real ingredients; fresh lemons...

I love berry smoothies since it’s the perfect way to cool down on hot Summer days and still satisfy that sweet tooth! Ingredients: 1 cup Mixed Berries, frozen 1 cup yogurt, plain Instructions Step 1) In a blender, mix both ingredients together until smooth. Notes: For the mixed berries, I include frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. I prefer the 50-50 ration, but you can always change up the ratio of frozen berries to yogurt to add to take away some of the sweetness (more berries = more sweet). Enjoy!
