New Web Design for SkinnyTwinkie.com

Posted by on Jun 3, 2013 in Twinkie | Comments Off on New Web Design for SkinnyTwinkie.com

As many of you know, I started SkinnyTwinkie.com in 2009, and since then, I have had the same web design! I guess it’s easy to become comfortable with what you know (plus the set up stage is quite time consuming!), but I have been thinking about making a change for awhile now. I kept putting it off, but when my site got hacked recently (grr!), I had to reinstall my entire site and let’s just say I was back in the whole “set up stage” all over again. I had to make a choice: set up my original site to what it was before…or get a new and improved site! As  you can see…I chose to go with something NEW!!! :) Here are some fun updates to the site: • My logo is FINALLY on display. This new theme made...

Why Drop The Extra 5 to 10 Pounds?

Posted by on May 27, 2013 in Health, Weight Loss | Comments Off on Why Drop The Extra 5 to 10 Pounds?

Most of us carry an extra 5 to 10 pounds of extra fat. We might not be considered “overweight” with just a couple of extra pounds of fat, but that doesn’t mean we should keep it on. Research shows that you can increase your overall health by losing the extra fat (that is, if you actually have extra fat to get rid of). Here’s a little infographic that shows the health benefits of losing those extra 5 to 10 pounds once and for all. If you need help on how to lose weight, check out all of our articles focusing on healthy weight loss.   Feel free to follow us, however you...

Frightening Truths About Stress

Posted by on Apr 22, 2013 in Health | Comments Off on Frightening Truths About Stress

A certain amount of stress is normal and even good for you. However, most adults are experiencing too much stress, which has a very negative impact on your health. I personally have experienced extreme amounts of stress in my life, and had to pay a high price for it – my health.  For those of you who know me personally or have followed my blog for awhile now, you know that I have had some issues with my back. Where does food come from?

Posted by on Apr 15, 2013 in Nutrition | Comments Off on Where does food come from?

I am writing this article based on a conversation I had with my husband a few weeks ago. I told him that avocados were a fruit (he thought they were a vegetable. Common mistake!) and that they grown on a tree. He didn’t believe me on both accounts! We finally did an internet search and I was able to prove my point. Of course, it’s not about being right…it’s about knowing where your food comes from! :) Do you know where your food comes from? What about your kids? First, check out this video from Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution: Wow. Pretty shocking, right? These kids don’t know what a tomato is, but they know about “tomato ketchup”! Just make sure everyone knows what a tomato plant looks like, here’s one for you: For your sake (and your kids if...
