Use The Right Onion

Posted by on Jan 23, 2014 in Nutrition | Comments Off on Use The Right Onion

This is a great guide to help you learn what type of onion you should use for different recipes. Sweet Onion – Best for frying (in coconut oil – of course!), such as onion rings or roasting with vegetables. Red Onion – Best for eating raw, like in sandwiches or salads. White Onion – Crunchiest and Sharpest Zing! Great for Salsas! Yellow Onion – Best all-around cooking onion. Very versatile, good for meat or vegetable roasts. Yum! Shallot – Mild and Subtle, fantastic for bean dips for added flavor (but not too strong). Feel free to follow us, however you...

The Bachelor Workout Game

Posted by on Jan 21, 2014 in Fitness | Comments Off on The Bachelor Workout Game

Last night I watched ABC’s The Bachelor with Juan Pablo – I wanted to see what the hype was all about. I kept thinking two things the entire time: 1) Thank goodness I am happily married and not on The Bachelor (yes, Juan Pablo is easy on the eyes, but the dating format is just not my style). 2) I HAVE to create a Bachelor Workout Game for all of you. So that’s exactly what I did! ;) The Bachelor Workout Game Juan Pablo has fun kissing lots of girls throughout the show. That’s going to cost you 25 jumping jacks for each kiss session! So many girls complaining or whining about getting a rose – DAYS before the rose ceremony. It’s this crazy obsession that’s going to cost 10 Squat Jumps. At least their complaining is gonna help...

Whole Wheat Flour vs White Flour

Posted by on Jan 21, 2014 in Nutrition | Comments Off on Whole Wheat Flour vs White Flour

Whole Wheat Flour vs White Flour If we are going to eat wheat, we have been advised to eat whole wheat products rather than white flour products – do you know why? Check out the above infographic! As you can see, the Bran layers and the Wheat germ are missing from white flour products. With white flour,  you are missing most of the fiber, and a lot of the nutrients. Skip the white flour products – for good! – and start going with whole wheat or whole grain products. If you have a sensitivity to wheat, make sure you still choose healthy choices, such as brown rice versus white rice. It’s a very similar concept to whole wheat flour and white flour. Bottom Line: Choose to use products that use the WHOLE grain, rather than parts of it. Feel...

It is something that I try to live by, and I believe that if you can live by this, it can have a powerful impact on your life. So many people will give up on their health goals to eat healthy and exercising regularly because of a few bad days. It’s important to remember why you started and then dust yourself off and Keep Moving Forward. You may take a few steps back now and again, but if you keep moving forward, you’ll eventually reach your goal. Feel free to follow us, however you...
